Big loss likely: Manchester United facing transfer interest in €75m man

for the right price.

.

The report observes, nonetheless, that Hojlund's acquisition from Atalanta came with a €75m price tag, which could result in a massive write-off for Manchester United due to his unsuccessful stint at the club.

'I was a massive Manchester United fan when I was younger, but after just one training session under Sir Alex Ferguson, I knew I had to get out!' – which high-profile flop revealed this astonishing truth?

Hojlund showed great promise while at Atalanta, but he's had a difficult time adjusting to Manchester United's level of play, making a transfer out of Old Trafford now a sensible move for the Danish international.

It may be that Hojlund's previous outstanding performances in Serie A could be the springboard for him to receive opportunities at top clubs such as Milan and Juventus, but ESPN states that hard evidence of genuine offers at the moment is scarce.

Rasmus Hojlund has joined the list of expensive Manchester United failures.

But he is by no means the only one to have encountered this issue, and it is likely that others will follow in his footsteps.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, the club has made many expensive signings who have failed to bring them success.

Huge sums were ploughed into the likes of Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Angel Di Maria along with Romelu Lukaku and Antony, whereas more lately we’ve also seen players like Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee facing difficulties.

Hojlund may still have a very promising career ahead of him, but his transfer to United may not have come at the most opportune moment, and it will be fascinating to observe whether he can regain his momentum.

Man United, then, simply need to keep tweaking their team until new manager Ruben Amorim has a squad that's running smoothly.
