Lewis Hamilton Ferrari experiments emerge as World Champion urged to ‘walk away’ – round-up

With no delay, let’s get on with it.

F1 News: Lewis Hamilton's Secret Car Testing Work Revealed

According to Vicky Piria, a former racing driver turned TV broadcaster who was trackside at Fiorano for Lewis Hamilton's first Ferrari test last week, the British driver was experimenting with various driving techniques while getting used to his new car.

Despite the conditions being quite damp, bleak and chilling, Lewis tried various things.

We viewed him working with the electronic differential, observed him fine-tuning the brake balance, and saw some locking procedures in action.

He wasn't simply just completing circuit laps, he was actually experimenting with different approaches.

Just experimenting and trying out ideas without being forced or hurried.

“Now he's getting into the swing of things, grasping what's needed, the various controls on the steering wheel and how they function.”

They absorb everything in the simulator, then convey it with real-world authenticity.

“Good timing for him as it's not far into his programme before he’s on his way to Australia.”

Lewis Hamilton urged to consider "walking away" were he to win an eighth F1 world title with Ferrari.

Formula 1 driver Tom Coronel is looking forward to another exciting title battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, and is optimistic that Hamilton will be the one to emerge victorious - with the British driver then considering retiring as an eighth world championship would give him a career record unlike any other.

.

“Were I Steven Spielberg in this hypothetical scenario, I feel, then I believe this is the perfect opportunity for him to bring it to fruition.”

“These things do you first when you're starting out, wearing the red suit, and then you can move on to other parts of life.”

Of course, I would love it if Max became the champion, it's only natural. But he was champion last year as well and the two years before that too. After that, Formula 1 does start to get a bit predictable.

"If we're looking to make a thrilling movie, let's end on a note like the final showdown between Max and Hamilton, with a red Ferrari in play. But then Hamilton would also have the courage to say, 'I've achieved everything I set out to do. I've driven for Ferrari and become world champion once more. Now, I'm ready to start a new chapter in my life, outside of motorsport.'

Then he reaches a particularly high or noteworthy point.

The FIA is taking aim to make the stewards' "more professional body".

It appears the British public is awash with viewpoints regarding Lewis Hamilton this weekend, including a piece penned by TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, a well-known journalist in the UK, for his column.

"What's Lewis's role now - a racing driver, or someone who's become a proper superstar?" he wondered.

What I do know is he'll have his work cut out to outpace his team-mate Charles Leclerc, who speaks Italian, understands the team, spends rather less time posing for photographs and, thanks to a single-lap contest, is seen by many as the quickest driver of them all.

It is possible that Lewis is aware of this.

Perhaps he has opted to drive for Ferrari because he acknowledges he's no longer at the peak of his career and wouldn't want to leave the sport without taking on the iconic team.

“Whatever the outcome, I wish him all the best.”

A former Formula One driver claims the win for Porsche at the prestigious Rolex 24

The first major motorsport event of 2025 took place on Sunday, and concluded with Porsche Penske emerging victorious at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Driver Felipe Nasr, formerly of Sauber, took control of the vehicle in the final stages and piloted it to a winning finish.

With former Formula One drivers competing in many cars, Kevin Magnussen's qualifying showing - which had earned him a pole position - came undone when Dries Vanthoor picked up damage to the BMW M Hybrid during the final stint while fighting for the lead.

In second place was Meyer Shank's Acura, won by Tom Blomqvist, with Matt Campbell, Porsche Penske's driver, finishing the other car of the 963 in third place.
